Course Objective

By the end of this course, one would have learned and practiced the skills needed to use various fire fighting equipment, extinguish large fires, and most of all perform as part of a team. 

Note: Full day Basic Fire Awareness course certificate is a requirement to attend this course.

Description

  • Understanding the theory of fire combustion.
  • Understanding the theory of fire hose construction and couplings.
  • Understanding means of water supply.
  • Legal notices and Requirements of fire safety.
  • Setting up of a portable combustion engine pump.
  • Practical hose running (dry and wet runs).
  • Recovery of Casualty from smoke and heat.
  • Extinguishing fires within buildings with hose reels.
  • Understanding extinguishing media.
  • Understanding and implementing fire evacuation procedures.
  • Introduction to Fixed Extinguishing Installations.

Intended To

This course is ideal for people whom as part of their work they are exposed to serious risks of fire and would need to react as effective and efficient in the shortest time frame possible.

16 hrs (8 hrs theory / 8 hrs practice)
