One day fire warden

Course Objective

By the end of this course, one would have acquired a basic understanding of the chemistry of fire, practiced the skills needed to extinguish a contained fire, become fully aware of the fire warden`s role and responsibilities, as well as his involvement in evacuation procedures.

Theory session

  • Chemistry of combustion 
  • Classes of fire 
  • Firefighting equipment and its use 
  • Identifying fire hazards and minimising fire risks 
  • Types and meanings of fire safety signs 
  • Evacuation procedures 
  • Fire drill including roll call 
  • The role and responsibilities of the fire warden 

Practical session

  • Use of different types of fire extinguishers
  • Use of fire hose reel
  • Use of fire blanket
  • Introduction to smoke

Intended To

This course is mainly intended for those who have been appointed Fire Wardens within their organisation, however, anyone can take advantage of attending this course.
